Founded in 2001, BG Roofing has been a cornerstone of quality roofing services in Springfield Missouri, and surrounding towns. Gene’s journey into roofing began in 1990, following his adventurous stint touring the US with his rock band Naked Zoo. Under the mentorship of Bob McElroy, owner of Mac’s Roofing, Gene honed his craft, eventually becoming a partner in the business by 1996.
Driven by a commitment to excellence, BG Roofing has built a stellar reputation over the years, earning the trust of a loyal customer base and gathering numerous recommendations. Our dedication to delivering top-notch workmanship is evident in our enduring partnerships, such as with Maranatha Retirement Village in Springfield MO, whom we’ve proudly served for over a decade.
At BG Roofing, we take pride in our hands-on approach to every project. Unlike many others in the industry, we exclusively handle all roofing work ourselves, without subcontracting, to ensure that the highest standards are consistently met.
Today, Gene’s son, Jesse Puckett, carries on the family tradition, working alongside his father and embodying our core value of treating every house as if it were our own. In 2023, Bryan Lawson decided to leave roofing to pursue a full-time music career in Branson.

From local gigs in Springfield MO to his latest venture with the UK band Atlantic Crossing, Gene brings the same dedication and passion to both his musical pursuits and roofing business.
